In the current world climate, we all need to be as eco-friendly as possible. Here at Oxley, we are constantly looking for new ways to improve our green initiative and reduce our impact upon the environment.  

 

One way that we hope to achieve this is by implementing a swim hat recycling scheme.  

 

Parents are, of course, welcome to pass on the swim hats to younger siblings within our swim school, but should they wish to recycle them, we are implementing the following plan: 

​

• Returned swim hats will be washed, sanitised and dried. They will all be inspected to see what condition they are in. 

• We will then offer these hats ‘second hand’ at a reduced price. 

• Any that we do not sell will be donated to Sea and Stream, who distribute them to SwimTayka, Cool Bathing or recycle them.  

• SwimTayka provide free swimming lessons and environmental education about clean water stewardship to underprivileged children who live alongside open water. 

• Cool Bathing reuse the hats for creative projects. 

 

We hope that this scheme will be a success and help protect the environment. We welcome any feedback from parents.
