Part Time Hospitality Team Member (Two positions - 23.5 hours average per week and 7.25 hours average per week)

 

To provide a friendly and effective service to all Centre users and customers. You will be flexible to work across a 7-day week rota including evenings and weekends.​​

​

Main Duties:

​

To serve customers in a professional manner providing a pleasant and fast service.

• To use the café equipment properly and in accordance with training provided, ensuring proper measures and minimum wastage.

• To prepare and serve beverages and light meals.

• To keep the coffee pod clean and sanitised.

• To operate tills and be responsible for taking payment for goods.

• To wear the uniform provided by the management for all shifts and to maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.

• To up sell other products when serving customers.

• To undertake a Food and Hygiene course as detailed by the Sports Centre, if not already qualified.

• To co-operate with the Management team in all issues of health and safety under the provisions within the Health & Safety Act

• To actively promote the name of Oxley Sports Centre and Sherborne Girls in all transactions with members and visitors.

Part Time Receptionist (17.5 hours per week average)​

​

To provide a friendly and effective service to all Centre customers and potential users and to answer all enquires either over the telephone or face to face confidently. Be proficient in handling monies and cashing up. You may be required to do a variety of admin duties and other responsibilities as required. You will be flexible to work across a 7-day week rota including evenings and weekends.

Main Duties:

​

  • To act as the first point of contact at Oxley Sports Centre and to ensure customers first impression of the Centre is a positive one. 

  • To assist customers making enquires, either in person or by phone and screen and forward incoming phone calls 

  • Greeting customers and members, making them feel welcome in a friendly and positive manner. 

  • To show prospective members around the Sports Centre and actively sell the benefits of regular exercise and health promotion to the lifestyles of all members, prospective members and visitors. 

  • To assist customers making choices regarding membership to ensure they are sold the correct membership and sign them up correctly.  Ensuring the right amount has been taken and Direct Debits are set up in time. 

  • To take bookings for activities at the Centre using the computerised booking system. Including booking customers in for classes and booking them for the following week, taking party bookings, swims school enrolments and bookings for junior courses. 

  • To ensure that customer feedback is used in a constructive way, as part of the continuous improvement process. 

  • To assist with the promotion of the Centre and its activities within the Centre. 

  • To have a thorough knowledge of the Centre facilities, products and services. 

  • To keep the retail display stocked and presentable and to replenish leaflet dispensers as and when required. 

  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges) 

  • To assist the management team with membership promotions and the retention of members.  

  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries. 

  • To provide administrative support to the Management team and the Company as and when required. 

  • To receive cash, cheque and credit cards as payment for Centre activities and to issue receipts to customers.  

  • To be responsible for the reconciliation of till contents and complete the cashing up sheets correctly at the end of the shift, investigating any inaccuracies and if no solution presents itself documenting these on the cashing up sheet. 

  • To ensure that the reception and foyer areas are always presented in a clean and hygienic manner 

  • Any other duties and responsibilities as may be required within the scope of the post. 

Level 2 Swimming Teacher (regular hours on a Tuesday 4-6pm and holiday cover)​

​

You will be part of our successful swim school team, teaching group lessons with the option to also teach private lessons.  You will need to have a passion for teaching, ensuring health and safety is followed throughout. 

​

To succeed as a Swimming Teacher:

  • You can confidently talk to parents about the progress of their children.

Pilates/Yoga Instructors​

​

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate instructor that is able to teach both Pilates and Yoga to join our team. As an instructor, you will have the opportunity to educate and guide individuals in achieving their fitness goals through the practice of both Pilates and Yoga. ​

​

Main duties:

 

  • Provide cover for Pilates and Yoga classes, focusing on the correct form and technique 

  • Provide clear instructions and demonstrations of exercises

  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for customers

  • Maintain a clean androgenised studio space

​

Qualifications

​

  • Certified Pilates and Yoga Instructor with a recognised certification 

  • Stong knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate and motivate clients

  • Ability to adapt exercises for clients with injuries and special conditions

  • Reliable, punctual and professional demeanour.

Climbing Instructors â€‹

​

Oxley Sports Centre has an unrivalled Climbing and Bouldering wall in the area and we are looking for a new instructor to join our friendly team.

 

You would be required to lead and supervise junior and adult climbing sessions with one regular class a week and opportunity for cover.  â€‹

​

Qualities we are looking for include:

 

  • Qualified to at least CWA level

  • Enthusiastic and outgoing

  • Have lots of ideas and a sense of humour

  • Ability to work as a team and use your own initative

  • Organised, proactive and reliable

  • Have experience working with children.
