Sara’s
Personal Training Story

I’ve begun fitness regimes several times
in the past and they always fizzled out when I
began to feel like I became disillusioned by lack
of progress. I had never given any thought to using
a personal trainer. I always thought they were
for the seriously wealthy! Last year, however,
out of sheer desperation, I booked a few sessions
with a trainer and I wouldn’t know what to
do without one.
You will soon develop a personal
relationship with your trainer. He will learn
whether you need a ‘softly, softly’ approach
or want to be pushed to the max (obviously the
more you allow him to challenge you the more progress
you will make) Getting to know your instructor
also makes the sessions much more fun than exercising
alone.
Personal trainers are great motivators and
confidence builders. Working out alone I was always
afraid of injury but my personal trainer has shown
me that I am capable of much more than I imagined,
which means I can progress much more quickly. My
trainer gives me frequent feedback on my progress
and this keeps me going when the going gets tough.
Personal
trainers know how to work the whole body. I went
to a personal trainer to increase my aerobic fitness
and strength but have ended up improving my balance,
stability, co-ordination, flexibility and ability
to focus mentally on physical tasks.
Since working with a personal trainer many of my
friends and colleagues have commented upon my increased
fitness. No-one made any such comments when I was
working alone
