Life
But Swimmingly……Puddle Ducks Swimming comes
to Oxley Sports Centre
April 2010 Starting
from Monday 10th May 2010, Puddle Ducks baby and toddler
swimming classes will be taking place at Oxley Sports
Centre. The 30 minute classes for babies and toddlers
up to two years will be taken by Lindsay Mann, who
is thrilled to be starting her Puddle Ducks business
venture in the area.
Puddle Ducks classes teach children
to swim, be safe and have fun in the water. Engaging
a child’s
natural ability and affinity with water, Puddle Ducks
swimmers develop confidence in water in the natural way.
In baby swimming classes, infants enjoy freedom of movement,
relaxation and bonding, whilst in the toddler classes,
children gain confidence and water safety skills. In
all swimming classes a child learns to swim without armbands
and with grace and efficiency.
With the imminent departure
of her second son to primary school, Lindsay wanted
to return to work but did not want to miss out on precious
time with her family. A background in competitive swimming
meant Lindsay was immediately attracted to the Puddle
Ducks programme and could appreciate the high quality
of teaching and rigorous training that all teachers
undertake.
Lindsay said : “I am really excited about working
with such a prestigious venue as Oxley Sports Centre
to provide our lessons for babies and todders up to two
years. Classes will be running during term time on Monday
afternoons from May 10th onwards”
Children
can join Puddle Ducks at any age from birth with classes
specific to age and ability. Each class is a carefully
balanced set of activities including group and individual
work, swimming, submersion, floating, songs and games.

About Puddle
Ducks
Puddle Ducks was founded in 2001 by Tracy Townend
and Jo Stone; having become friends at
antenatal classes they regularly took their children
swimming but disappointingly couldn’t find any local baby focussed lessons,
which they knew existed. This discovery coincided with
the fact they realised their priorities had changed since
becoming mums, and neither wanted to return to their
corporate careers. This turning point led to intensive
research and training and they opened their first Puddle
Ducks class in 2002. Eight years on there are ten Puddle
Duck franchises around the UK with more to follow in
the next 12 months.
